Floral Trout & Worms Dress
I love this sweet thing!!! Soft and light black cotton dress covered in sweet, small florals. Features two patches printed in black on a pink floral fabric and sewn on with black thread. The dress has a round scoop neckline, 8 black flower-shaped buttons, and a slightly gathered waist. Pairs perfectly with the Country Girl Button up and the Pink Kitty Patchwork Tote!
The patches on this pre-loved dress have been block printed using oil-based inks and hand-carved rubber stamps. It is washed and ready to wear!
⋆。°✩ Care & Information ⋆。°✩
This garment is secondhand and printed by hand.
To care for vintage and handmade garments, follow these rules:
Minimize washing, spot clean or hand wash, and if you choose to use a washing machine- wash cold and delicate!
Hand-printed items, and all clothes that are handmade or made from natural fibers, should be treated with care. Please do not wash hot!
***Please know that the clothes I print on are secondhand, which means they may show signs of wear. I have high standards when selecting clothes, and always make a note in the listing if there are damages. Your purchase supports a one-woman small business while helping to keep clothes out of the landfill and reduce the global demand for unethically produced textiles!!

A little more information on block printing, for those who are curious:
Block prints, or relief prints, can be made in many ways. I use small tools called gouges to carve my drawing out of a soft rubber block. Some artists use linoleum or wood, which lasts longer but is harder to carve into. The image must be carved in reverse for the print to come out the right way.
After the stamp is carved, I use a brayer to roll ink onto my stamp in thin layers, lay it on the garment, and use my own body weight to transfer the print. The ink takes two weeks to dry before it is washed and shipped to you! <3
Block printing is a very fun and relatively easy method of printmaking that has been used by cultures all over the world for thousands of years. It is thought to have originated in China, and was made popular worldwide by the textile industry in India.
