Butter Near Golden- Limited Edition Print

If you live in the northern states or in Canada, you will know all about the few precious hours of daylight we get to have in the winter.
But something that feels extra precious to me is the chance to see the captivating low lights that come with sunsets in the middle of the day. The sun is low and pale, and the atmosphere is hazy, casting
everything in a buttery yellow glow. The shadows turn soft blue, and the forest is so quiet in the snow.

I made this little painting after a ski trip in Silver Star, near Golden, BC. On the lower ski trails, you could come around the side of the mountain in the middle of the afternoon to watch the most beautiful sunsets. I tried to capture this calm and quiet feeling in this piece!
